NAWADES pilot technology in use: "Europe’s largest SWRO plant takes shape"

Take a look on the article “Europe’s largest SWRO plant takes shape” and find out how Spain, using NAWADES pilot technology, tends to solve problems regarding lack of resources of drinking water, hardness and salinity with existing sources, little flexibility in the drinking water network and increasing salinity of groundwater in the Barcelona south-west area.

One of the largest seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) projects in Europe – Barcelona Desalination Plant is integrated into the Desalination Plan of Spain’s Environmental Ministry with the general objective of supplying potable water. Other project objectives are: a new resource which will increase drinking-water quality and quantity, a guarantee of production combined with other works and plant production of 15-20% of drinking-water demand per year.
